Dr. Rusdi Abd. Rashid is a graduate of University Malaya obtaining the degree MBBS in 1998. He continued with a Masters in Psychological Medicine in University of Malaya and completed his master degree in year 2006. He received addiction training course in Turning point , Melbourne in year 2007 and Open Medical Institute , Salzberg , Austria in year 2008. Subsequently, he undergo the fellowship program under the WHO Collaborating Centre in Korea for Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Community Mental Health in the same year. He is currently a senior lecturer in the University of Malaya and the chief coordinator of the University Malaya Center for Addiction Sciences(UMCAS) and coordinator for substance abuse treatment services, University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC). Dr Rusdi has involved with most of pilot addiction treatment program in Malaysia. He is a Clinical Co-investigator and Visiting psychiatrist for Pilot Methadone Program in Pengkalan Chepa Prison, Kota Bharu, Malaysia(2008-2009). He is also a clinical Co-investigator, Prison-Community Link Project on Harm Reduction (PICOL-HR or Project HARAPAN) 2009 – present. He is a Committee members for National Methadone Maintenance Program, Malaysia(2006-present). He is a Project Coordinator for Spiritual Enhanced Drug Addiction Rehabilitation (SEDAR) Program: Pilot Methadone Project in Ar-Rahman Mosque, Malaysia(2009-present). He is a Committee members and visiting psychiatrist for Pilot Methadone Program in Government Drug Rehabilitation Centre (PUSPEN PERSADA), Malaysia(2010-present) and a Committee members and visiting Psychiatrist for Pilot Methadone Program in Aftercare Centre National Anti-Drug Agency (NADA)-2007-2009. He is also a sought after expert by Malaysian media such as TV3 and TV2.

Associate Professor Dr Muhammad Muhsin Ahmad Zahari started his career in 1999 at the Penang Hospital. His areas of expertise include general psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, addiction psychiatry and community and rehabilitation psychiatry. He was a member of the Youth Psychiatric Council for the World Psychiatric Association (WPA), and the currently he is the Honorary Secretary for the Malaysian Psychiatric Association (MPA), life member of the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) and registered specialist with National Specialist Registry (NSR). He is also a committee in the development of Malaysian Clinical Practice Guideline for Depression. He was also a research affiliate at the University of Yale, Department of Internal Medicine. He contributed many publications including those published in the American Journal of Drug and Alcohol Abuse, American Journal of Drug and Alcohol Abuse, WHO Bulletin and International Journal of Prisoner Health. He is an active researcher in his field, having participated in many projects since 2004, as well as consulted on various projects. He was also the President of Sleep Disorder Society Malaysia (SDSM) from 2011-2015. In 2013 he was the Chairman of the International Society of Addiction Medicine (ISAM) Conference where it was attended by delegates from 53 countries. For his contributions, he was awarded a Fellowship in Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Community, Korea, WHO Collaborating Center, Korea, Fellowship in Young Psychiatry of World Psychiatric Association in 2008, as well as awarded the Excellence Service Award in 2007, 2015, 2016 from University of Malaya. He also received an Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (EIPRS) awarded by the Government of Australia, 2007, (International). He is committee members for various committee and also often invited as a key expert to share in Malaysian media.

Dr. Amer is an Associate Professor with the Dept. of Psychological Medicine, University Malaya and consultant psychiatrist in University Malaya Medical Centre. He received his undergraduate medical training in New Zealand (University of Otago), his psychiatry training in University Malaya and completing his PhD from New Zealand (University of Otago). He has a fellowship in psychosocial and rehabilitation psychiatry from Korea through the Yongin World Health Organization Collaborating Centre. He has also received his smoking cessation specialist certification from New Zealand. Dr Amer is particularly interested in mood disorders, anxiety disorders and addiction psychiatry. He has written on depression particularly and also extensively on alcohol use disorder and smoking. He was attached to the National Addiction Centre in Christchurch and is now with University Malaya Centre for Addiction Sciences (UMCAS). He is active in advocating for better mental health having given many public lectures on psychiatry and sharing his thoughts to the public through the Malaysian Medical Gazette. He believes in promoting good mental health through awareness activities which he hopes will de-stigmatize mental illness. His most recent project is the Art Exhibition for Mental Health and an Awareness campaign for the month of October 2016. He is a life member of the Malaysian Psychiatric Association and consultant psychiatrist to Befrienders KL.
